Privacy Policy

SunNomad is built by GoldieApps. This policy explains what data we collect when you use the app, where it is stored, and what you can do about it.

1. Account & profile data

SunNomad can be used without an account. As a guest, you can browse the map, weather filters, forecasts, and place details.

An account is optional and only needed for account-based features: saving favourites and syncing them across devices, and profile/rig settings.

If you register, we store:

Email address and password (managed by Supabase Auth — we never store your password in plain text)
Username (required) and optional display name
Account metadata such as when your account was created and when you last opened the app

This data is stored on our servers (Supabase) so you can sign in and sync favourites across devices.

2. Favourites & feedback

Favourites — saved places are stored in your account on our servers, linked to your user ID. They sync when you log in on another device.
Feedback — if you send feedback through the app, we store your message and may include your email address if you provide it.

3. Data stored on your device only

The following stays on your phone and is not uploaded to our servers (unless you create an account — see section 1):

App settings (theme, units, language, map radius, filters)
Onboarding progress and UI preferences
Cached map data for faster loading
Your login session token (only if you sign in)

4. Location

Location access is optional — you can skip it in the app and still use SunNomad without sharing your position.

SunNomad uses your location while the app is open to centre the map and show nearby destinations. We do not store your GPS coordinates on our servers.

Coordinates may be sent to third-party services when you use certain features:

Open-Meteo — to fetch weather forecasts for a location
Google Places — when you search for a place (search text, not continuous tracking)
Apple / Google Maps — when you tap to navigate to a destination

5. Analytics & crash reporting

In production builds, we use:

Mixpanel (EU servers) — anonymous usage analytics to understand how the app is used (e.g. screens viewed, features used, search queries). After login, events are linked to your user ID, not your email.
Sentry — crash and error reports to help us fix bugs.

We do not use advertising trackers and do not sell your data.

6. Third-party services

Supabase — authentication, database, and file storage
Open-Meteo (open-meteo.com) — weather data
Google Places & Maps — place search and navigation
Mixpanel — product analytics (EU)
Sentry — crash reporting

These providers may process data on servers outside the EU. We choose services with appropriate safeguards where available.

7. Data retention

Account data, profile, and favourites are kept until you delete your account. Weather forecast data on our servers is automatically purged after a few weeks and is not linked to your identity.

8. Your rights

You can:

Delete your account — in the app under Profile → Delete Account. This permanently removes your account, profile, and favourites from our servers.
Request access or correction — email us at hola@sunnomad.app
Withdraw consent — you can stop using the app at any time; deleting your account applies only if you are signed in

If you are in the EU/EEA, you have additional rights under GDPR including the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

9. Children's privacy

SunNomad is not directed at children under 13 (or 16 in the EU). We do not knowingly collect data from children.

10. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.

SunNomad wird von GoldieApps betrieben. Diese Erklärung beschreibt, welche Daten wir bei der Nutzung der App erheben, wo sie gespeichert werden und welche Rechte du hast.

1. Konto & Profildaten

SunNomad kann ohne Konto genutzt werden. Als Gast kannst du Karte, Wetterfilter, Vorhersagen und Ortsdetails nutzen.

Ein Konto ist optional und nur für kontobasierte Funktionen nötig: Favoriten speichern und geräteübergreifend synchronisieren sowie Profil-/Fahrzeug-Einstellungen.

Bei der Registrierung speichern wir:

E-Mail-Adresse und Passwort (über Supabase Auth — Passwörter werden nicht im Klartext gespeichert)
Benutzername (Pflicht) und optional einen Anzeigenamen
Kontometadaten wie Erstellungsdatum und Zeitpunkt des letzten App-Starts

Diese Daten liegen auf unseren Servern (Supabase), damit du dich anmelden und Favoriten geräteübergreifend synchronisieren kannst.

2. Favoriten & Feedback

Favoriten — gespeicherte Orte werden in deinem Konto auf unseren Servern mit deiner User-ID verknüpft. Sie synchronisieren sich, wenn du dich auf einem anderen Gerät anmeldest.
Feedback — wenn du Feedback in der App sendest, speichern wir deine Nachricht und ggf. deine E-Mail-Adresse, falls du sie angibst.

3. Nur auf dem Gerät gespeichert

Folgende Daten bleiben auf deinem Gerät und werden nicht auf unsere Server hochgeladen (außer du erstellst ein Konto — siehe Abschnitt 1):

App-Einstellungen (Design, Einheiten, Sprache, Kartenradius, Filter)
Onboarding-Fortschritt und UI-Einstellungen
Zwischengespeicherte Kartendaten
Dein Anmelde-Session-Token (nur bei Anmeldung)

4. Standort

Standortzugriff ist optional — du kannst ihn in der App überspringen und SunNomad auch ohne Positionsfreigabe nutzen.

SunNomad nutzt deinen Standort nur während die App geöffnet ist, um die Karte zu zentrieren und Orte in der Nähe anzuzeigen. GPS-Koordinaten werden nicht auf unseren Servern gespeichert.

Koordinaten können bei bestimmten Funktionen an Dienste weitergegeben werden:

Open-Meteo — Wettervorhersagen für einen Ort
Google Places — bei der Ortssuche (Suchtext, kein dauerhaftes Tracking)
Apple / Google Maps — wenn du zur Navigation tippst

5. Analyse & Absturzberichte

In Produktions-Builds setzen wir ein:

Mixpanel (EU-Server) — anonyme Nutzungsanalyse (z. B. angesehene Screens, genutzte Funktionen, Suchanfragen). Nach dem Login werden Ereignisse mit deiner User-ID verknüpft, nicht mit deiner E-Mail.
Sentry — Absturz- und Fehlerberichte zur Fehlerbehebung.

Wir verwenden keine Werbe-Tracker und verkaufen keine Daten.

6. Drittanbieter

Supabase — Authentifizierung, Datenbank, Dateispeicher
Open-Meteo (open-meteo.com) — Wetterdaten
Google Places & Maps — Ortssuche und Navigation
Mixpanel — Produktanalyse (EU)
Sentry — Absturzberichte

Diese Anbieter können Daten auf Servern außerhalb der EU verarbeiten. Wir wählen Dienste mit angemessenen Schutzmaßnahmen, soweit verfügbar.

7. Speicherdauer

Konto-, Profil- und Favoritendaten bleiben gespeichert, bis du dein Konto löschst. Wetterdaten auf unseren Servern werden nach wenigen Wochen automatisch gelöscht und sind nicht mit deiner Identität verknüpft.

8. Deine Rechte

Du kannst:

Dein Konto löschen — in der App unter Profil → Konto löschen. Damit werden Konto, Profil und Favoriten dauerhaft von unseren Servern entfernt.
Auskunft oder Berichtigung verlangen — per E-Mail an hola@sunnomad.app
Einwilligung widerrufen — du kannst die Nutzung jederzeit beenden; die Kontolöschung gilt nur für angemeldete Nutzer

In der EU/des EWR hast du zusätzliche Rechte nach der DSGVO, einschließlich des Rechts, dich bei deiner Datenschutzbehörde zu beschweren.

9. Kinder

SunNomad richtet sich nicht an Kinder unter 13 Jahren (in der EU unter 16). Wir erheben wissentlich keine Daten von Kindern.

10. Änderungen

Wir können diese Erklärung von Zeit zu Zeit aktualisieren. Änderungen werden auf dieser Seite mit aktualisiertem Datum veröffentlicht.
